Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n

Credibility is defined as the ability in influencing or persuading the message receiver to believe the message received. Credibility is one of important factors for a globalized communication channel such as the Internet, by which there is no clear owner. Therefore, credibility acts as the main aspect that signals correctness and reliability of information presented on the Internet. For educational institutes, the concept of credibility is not a new entity, as it can be seen by people in orderly student uniforms to maintain the institute\u2019s image and to fortify credibility of the institute. This also includes using students\u2019 photos in various communication media such as brochures, leaflets, or on websites. The orderly student uniform induces credibility towards the institute. Regarding an educational institute\u2019s website, credibility is significantly important because the institute\u2019s website has its primary function as an academic resource for research studies including distributing up-to-date information to a large audience. Therefore, an educational institute\u2019s website always needs to maintain itself for excellent credibility.<\/p>\n

This research study: 1) investigated the current state of problems in Rajabhat Universities\u2019 websites, and 2) examined the credibility-enhancing communication framework for Rajabhat Universities\u2019 websites. This can then be applied to current Rajabhat Universities\u2019 websites so that the credibility would be enhanced. This study used mixed-method research design including quantitative research and qualitative research. For quantitative data, a set of questionnaires was distributed to 467 respondents, whereas an in-depth interview was conducted to gain qualitative data.\u00a0 Eight professionals and experts in related fields participated in the interview.<\/p>\n

The results revealed the appropriate communication framework was the presentation of the unique characteristics of a particular Rajabhat University on the website to create credibility and to enforce existing credibility of the university itself.\u00a0 This included: 1) providing the correct information to the right target group, 2) making well-organized and understandable information, and 3) publishing academic articles and research papers in English. This could increase the referencing rate and would result in an increase of Webometrics ranking contributing to greater credibility of that particular institution.<\/p>\n
